While I wish the RGB was brighter, the way the color shines is clean. The revamped yellow switches are a game changer for discreet gamers. The battery life will also cater to anyone’s needs. The BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed retails for $179.99 and in the keyboard market, especially for a wireless keyboard with all these options, is an extremely fair price point.

I’m happy to see Razer release a wireless compact gaming keyboard, particularly one that is as comfortable as some specialized mechanical keyboards, like the KeyChron K3 Wireless. But that brand lacks mainstream appeal, while Razer is a leading gaming keyboard maker. Hopefully, this inspires its competitors to get into the game—and maybe some of them will prioritize battery life.

I found myself switching between 2.4GHz and bluetooth regularly to work, game, or chat between my laptop and my desktop. Swapping connections is fast with only a couple seconds of delay but needing to flip a switch every time got old fast. HyperSpeed was reliably excellent no matter what game I was playing but bluetooth would occasionally feel sluggish with noticeable latency. Infrequently, it would miss keystrokes as if the connection had momentarily gone to sleep. It was usable but not something I wouldn’t attempt to game with.
