The Asus ROG Strix G15 (G512LI) presents a sleek body and a punchy keyboard, but hollow audio and a dismal display weigh it down.
The Zephyrus G15 is a fairly competent all-round portable 15-inch laptop. It performs admirably in demanding loads and pairs the hardware with a compact build and a punchy and fast screen, a great option for daily use and gaming, and even a fine one for color-accurate work. However, the smudgy materials, the shallow keyboard, the MaxQ-only GPU options, and especially the wonky thermal design and high internal temperatures, these all eat into its potential, both as a gaming ultraportable and as a multi-tasker.
If you're looking for a powerful gaming laptop with no-frills design, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 is a great buy. While it may have a high entry-level starting price, its powerful CPU, gaming performances, slim design and extreme portability make it a solid buy for any pro gamer.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 GA502 (2020) isn’t a bad device but its questionable performance under heavy loads makes it a not-so-attractive choice for gaming because for the same amount of money you can buy some other laptop with better cooling and performance levels than this ASUS device.
