The Razer Blade 16 is a thin RTX 5090 laptop with a bright screen and tons of ports, but it's extremely pricey and the drivers felt unfinished on our test unit.

So yes, the battery life is fleeting, but that’s to be expected with a gaming laptop! They’re all bad at battery life! But I do wish the audio was a bit louder and the fans a bit quieter, and we can agree the price will do a number on many a budget. But despite the minor flaws this is still a premium system, and man, I love a premium system. They’re a showcase of the best the industry has to offer.

For anyone that is considering an upgrade, the Blade 16 is an outstanding option. It’s thinner, lighter, faster, and quieter than last generation with meaningful upgrades to its actual use experience. It’s one of my favorite laptops of the last couple years and my favorite Razer Blade to date. Separate from the inevitable conversation about the silicon and judged on its own merits, it’s an excellent example of a flagship gaming laptop done right. Just be prepared to swallow the pill that is its price tag.

The large vapor-chamber cooling does a decent job in terms of the noise volume, but the case temperatures have increased. The OLED display with 240 Hz is excellently suited for gaming, and the included color profiles (both P3 and sRGB) are superbly calibrated. Only the HDR capabilities of the OLED panel leave something to be desired. Overall, the new Razer Blade 2025 is a good and particularly mobile gaming laptop that also offers a lot of performance for creative users.

It’s difficult to evaluate exactly how the Razer Blade 16 will match up against something like the ROG Zephyrus G16 in performance and battery life. The Blade 16 is only $100 more expensive, so its pricing isn’t too far-fetched, though that doesn’t make it any easier to stomach. But what you get is a gaming laptop that does nearly everything right.

This the first gaming laptop that has been able to deliver the sort of all-round PC experience that would have me consider ditching both my work laptop and my desktop gaming PC. And that is saying something. The Blade 16 is a genuinely lovely device, that can deliver whether plugged into a wall socket or running on its battery.
