ASRock X570 Taichi

It took a long time to test all of this over the course of two month. So much changed about the motherboard in that time (updates etc.) and getting familiar with the board takes quite a bit of time (why it’s near impossible to do a review of a board in one week). After all that, I think I may have been too hasty with the Editors’ choice award. This is the one that deserves my highest praise and the value award as well. In as far as my X570 experience is concerned, this is the pinnacle. The ASRock X570 Taichi is simply phenomenal. If you’re at all looking for an X570 board, I would strongly suggest you start here.

X570 motherboards are here, and they are pricey, and this ASRock board is no different. Let’s quickly cover why. First, it’s got PCIe Gen 4 support, that’s pricey. Second, the power delivery for the CPUs, this board has to handle a 16 core CPU and overclocking it. Pretty mad for the same board that fits a quad core APU.

Loaded with features like Wi-Fi 6, a solid 12 phase VRM, and some stellar looks, ASRock's X570 Taichi is a very nice motherboard and a great successor to the X470 Taichi.

Looking at the price you can pick this board up at our favorite online retailer for $299, which is not cheap by any means, but looking at X570 boards it is very middle-of-the-road. These new boards are some of the first to have PCI-Express 4.0 and the new WiFi 6 standard, and that comes at a premium. With all of the features on this board it is definitely one very solid X570 board and one that we would totally recommend.

If ASRock can get the pricing just right, this may end up being one of the hottest selling X570 motherboards on the market. It’s certainly one of my favourites, and with performance, build quality and style like this, it’s easy to see why.

If you are an avid gamer or content creator who relies on WiFi some or all of the time, the ASRock X570 Taichi is worth the investment, especially if you need the extra PCIe bandwidth or don't upgrade every two years. The excellent build quality and sleek updated looks make the ASRock X570 Taichi a solid choice.

The X570 Taichi is a solid board, but we'd rather pay $20 less for it and have the convenience of easy M.2 slot access. We'd also like to see a firmware update that brings a default RPM slope to the 6000 RPM...
