Similarly the Core i5-12400F is amazing, but if you've already invested in a Core i5-11400 then there isn't enough extra here to make the upgrade worthwhile. However, if you want a gaming system that will blow you away in performance terms and you've currently got a 10th Gen CPU or older, the Intel Core i5-12400F is every bit as brilliant as you could hope. It's the perfect entry point to modern technologies and wins our OC3D Gamers Choice Award.
So if you have avid needs for your PC and are not a content creator demanding many threaded applications, then the proc will serve you extremely well as a desktop processor. For gaming, this CPU is downright excellent even with the fastest graphics cards, period. An affordable CPU does need an affordable infrastructure though, see keep in mind what I stated about B660 and DDR4 okay? But yeah man, the Core i5 12400 is absolutely a processor we can highly recommend.
Intel is back with a vengeance on the desktop. Melding high-performance architecture with fantastic value, Core i5-12400 is a great choice for a shiny, new PC build in 2022.
Even though this first benchmark run was only about pure gaming – the tendency is already really clear, just like in the previous emulation. The new Intel Core i5-12400 has what it takes to set a real scent mark in its price and performance class and to really annoy AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X. With its 6 P-cores and HT, it’s not only virtually as fast as AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X on paper, but it offers the better P1 values and an efficiency that’s over a third better than that of the previous front-runner Ryzen 5 5600X! That’s no small improvement either, but a whole class better. At least.

Formally announced at CES, the Core i5 12400 and other Alder Lake non-K desktop CPUs are beginning to appear in retail channels. Last week I was able to buy an Intel Core i5 12400 "Alder Lake" from a major Internet retailer for $209 USD -- and one week...
Intel finally unleashed a sub-10nm (officially the Intel 7 process, which is comparable to TSMC 7nm) desktop CPU with its 12th Gen Alder Lake processors in later 2021, bringing an end to the blue team's multi-year slippage at 14nm.The company has...
The 12400 serves up solid performance in all manner of threaded productivity applications, and its snappy single-threaded performance beats even the fastest Ryzen 5000 processors. Additionally, the Core i5-12400 delivers incredible levels of gaming performance but at a much lower price point than any comparable AMD processor, setting a new bar for budget gaming chips.
