Similarly the Core i5-12400F is amazing, but if you've already invested in a Core i5-11400 then there isn't enough extra here to make the upgrade worthwhile. However, if you want a gaming system that will blow you away in performance terms and you've currently got a 10th Gen CPU or older, the Intel Core i5-12400F is every bit as brilliant as you could hope. It's the perfect entry point to modern technologies and wins our OC3D Gamers Choice Award.

So if you have avid needs for your PC and are not a content creator demanding many threaded applications, then the proc will serve you extremely well as a desktop processor. For gaming, this CPU is downright excellent even with the fastest graphics cards, period. An affordable CPU does need an affordable infrastructure though, see keep in mind what I stated about B660 and DDR4 okay? But yeah man, the Core i5 12400 is absolutely a processor we can highly recommend.

Even though this first benchmark run was only about pure gaming – the tendency is already really clear, just like in the previous emulation. The new Intel Core i5-12400 has what it takes to set a real scent mark in its price and performance class and to really annoy AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X. With its 6 P-cores and HT, it’s not only virtually as fast as AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X on paper, but it offers the better P1 values and an efficiency that’s over a third better than that of the previous front-runner Ryzen 5 5600X! That’s no small improvement either, but a whole class better. At least.
