OCZ Arc 100 SSD

Overview

The Arc 100 is a SSD that comes in several versions, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB. All of them are driven by OCZ's Barefoot 3 M10 controller along with the latest A19nm Toshiba Multi-Level Cell (MLC) flash memory. The drive is backed by a three-year warranty, and like all SSDs, the Arc 100 should consume very little power. At idle, all three models draw just 0.6w. When active they are typically around 3.45w.

As it stands, the only real competition the Arc 100 faces is from the MX100 and as far as we can tell, OCZ has lost the performance battle and is likely going to lose out when it comes to pricing as well.

This may be only OCZ's budget drive but it offers great performance with plenty of all-important support to provide peace of mind to anyone concerned about moving to solid-state storage. With its attractive warranty terms and great performance for the price it's easy to recommend.
