New Build

Hey Gang,

My brain if is burned from authoring brilliant papers for my college courses
thought I would break and see if any of you had any input for this build for my own use. particularly in the HDD/SSD configuration area. and yes, its a gamer. Thinking of possibly waiting for the Southern islands parts since they are due out in a couple months and hanging with the 4 x 4850's for now. So if you have any brilliant insight (or have worked with this MB, I would appreciate any input.

I would think you'd be able to power a "holodeck"with that setup....

The cards seem cheap enough. I'd doubt they would fall much below $200/per since nvidia and ATI are both in the money making business. From what I've gleaned, S.I. isn't going to be a quantum leap in performance- just more of the same with better efficiency and maybe better tesselation..a hybrid, proof of concept for the Northern Islands series, so maybe striking while the iron is hot may be the way to go since the release date for S.I. is no more nailed down than Q4 You'll get a better price for your x2 and 4850's now as well -assuming you are jettisoning them.
Good luck with the build and post some benches of the tri-HD5830's. Can't say I've seen any review sites with numbers of that particular setup.
Oh, and OS/Programs on SSD, storage on conventional hdd -maybe a VelociRaptor is you're going to park a lot of game related folders.
