I am trying to find out how to send a simple message that would pop up and say someting. I am not trying to do anything malicious, just trying to make someone smile. We both have computers with windows xp. I don't have her IP address or computer name yet. We are in different states. Thank you for your help.

Not really. I really only wanted to do like a netsend type thing. I have no interest in hacking into the computer. I thought it might bring a smile to her face is all. If it is not possible legally then I don't want to do it.

Windows XP has the net send functionality no problem, but usually it is disabled and blocked because of spamming. Any decent networked system is configured to refuse all incoming requests by default, so to be able to do anything remotely, you have to set up stuff on the target machine.

I didn't even think about the spaming thing. Yeah flowers sounds like an easier solution. Thanks for the help
