Are You Using Your Right or Left Brain?

This test was devised at Yale University for a 5 year study on the human brain and its functions.

The rotating figure below is actually neutral as regards the 2 directions of rotation.
But if you see it turning clockwise then you are using the right side of your brain,
if anti-clockwise the left side.

It is well known that the left side has to do with facts and logic, whereas the right with imagination and art.

It’s actually possible to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it. Apparently, if you can switch between seeing her turn either way at will without shifting your gaze, your IQ is above 160 … which is almost at genius level!

Tip: If you see her motionless, don’t mention it, or people will think that you are not using any part of your brain. :)

ummm Bobcat...what does it mean if she is talking to me and inviting me to run away with her into her monochromatic world?
....oh dear....Ive said to much....

Holy Hell, Bobcats not pulling a fast one here, i just spent the last ten minutes making her change from clockwise to counter, its like a switch, think counter clockwise and she goes the otherway. very cool Bobcat!!

Although I initially saw her going clockwise, I can manage to get to see it anti-clockwise if I keep the image in my peripheral view for some time. Cannot manage to go back to seeing it go clockwise though, for some wierd reason.

Cool stuff though. Nice find bobcat! :grinthumb

this has me intrigued, i would like to hear from someone else who sees this, its like there is a split second of stop motion, or a missing frame or something when she changes direction,

I randomly see her turning in either direction. Does this mean that I'm using the bridge between the two hemispheres, because I thought I broke that with LSD in the seventies

good question. i assume its in the southern hemisphere, and the belt loops are the equator.

oh no Super, thats not what i meant, i meant that when it changes, is it like (at least for me) when you glance at a clock with a second hand, it freezes for a second, or actually seems to tick backwards one tick, and then goes forward?

okay...i'll bite (no pun intended)....non noticed im sure, what is "the fishing brain?

im sure im gonna fell like a rube,a dolt, and maroon when you tell me.

Definite left side for me, though sometimes it flickers right (maybe I just want to fool myself into thinking i'm smart), the harder I look, the more solidly it looks like its turning left.

I think it seems to spin either way because the figure is completely black and there is no distinguished way you can tell which shapes (like arms and legs) are in front of the body, couldn't imagine what people did in those five years of research though.

VERY INTERESTING!

EDIT: Just switched clockwise while I could only see the legs while reading, i have to concentrate a little to keep it spinning right, and concentrate even harder to start it spinning right, mind boggling!

I've seen this before and made it go both ways somehow. But on first glance this time it went clockwise, and I couldn't reverse it within 10s so I quit trying. I was actually more focused on trying to see if they put nipples on her.

At first it was turning counterclockwise, but then it switched, and I can only get it to switch back while my eyes are un-focused. Also, i found that if I scroll down so I can only see the legs, and then I un-focus my eyes, the movement switches directing every time the leg is pointing sideways.

When I look at it first glance its clockwise, i go down and read the text in the first post and it turns to counter clock. Not sure what that means.

I've also tried it listening to different kinds of music, and changing my resolution on my monitor. Seems like the higher the resolution the more difficult it is for me to concentrate and "make" it switch after a blink of an eye.

I'm listening to diff genres of music, classical, and music with strings make the image go counterclock, this is if I refresh the page too, so I make sure I'm looking at it for the first time.

Trance and dancehall music I just cant concentrate at all and I feel like a remedial 7 year old.

i dont know why super but im fascinated by this, i noticed that when i was in a bad mood and i first look at it it, it was going counter, otherwise it started out clockwise. gonna try the music thing though. cant be the monitor though cuz i have a 305t as well.

i think were having our leg pulled here! LOL shes changing randomly.

the whole thing is bugging me out, its hard to narrow it down to what actually makes it do what. The brain is doing so many things at once you kind of dig yourself in a whole the more you try to get into this.

This afternoon I could make her go either way, albeit with a short look away. Tonight she's counterclockwise all the way. (That's what us dolts in the colonies call "anticlockwise"). This is probably because I've fallen in love with her since then, and the old imagination has kicked in.

Jumping off her heel without bending the knee, she's tricky, that one.

i think Bobcat is doing a an experiment.....and we are the lab rats:haha:, nice job Bobcat!

Right, a soft porn workshop. Remember, if your little dancer stands up and rotates for more than four hours, see a doctor!

:haha::haha::haha: best edit ever!

she will only go counter "anti" clockwise" for 8 seconds....methinks Bobcat is having a spot of fun with us dolts...or rubes if you prefer :)

The issue is that the human brain is not smart enough to fully differentiate between Right and Left hemispheres of the brain.

But I love the logic of it :haha:

my brain just blew up....and SNGX.... my wife just pointed out that there are nipples

OH SURE KIMSLAND! spoil the fun! lol

a more active mod ,you will not find.....see what i did there? :) ...man you like messin with me dont ya?

Scientific Analysis

I am impressed by how many people can see or even make her move in either direction. In accordance with my OP, this proves the high IQ of TS members. :)

Now my scientific analysis of the various observations made in the comments so far:

• Those seeing sexual connotations are using their “male part of the brain”. In young male adults, this part occupies much of the brain much of the time. This part is also used by those surprised at her changing direction. They obviously know little about women and their changeability.
• Those seeing a nipple have a focused brain that can “get to the point”.
• Those seeing her move randomly in any direction “change their mind” easily. They also know women well.
• Those seeing her stop momentarily are “giving their mind a rest”.
• Those using the bridge between the two hemispheres have a “split personality”. They also like “sitting on a fence”.
• Those getting hooked on her have what has been referred to here as a “fishing brain”.

Finally,
• Those seeing exploitation on my part are using the outermost part of the brain, perhaps even further out, because they are “out of their minds”. :)
