How to configure linksys WRT54G wireless router without CD?

I purchased a Linksys WRT54G wireless router (version 4) from amazon and when it arrived in the mail, there was no CD with it. I thought it was a new router, but I think it must have been used as it has a goodwill price tag on the underside of it. How do I get this router to send a wireless signal throughout my house without the CD?

So far I have connect the blue ethernet cord from the router to my internet modem and another ethernet cord from my router to my computer. I also have both the wireless router and the internet modem powered up. There is one numbered light on which is where I have the ethernet cord from the computer connected to the router and the internet light is blinking.

I have done several internet searches trying to find how I can send a wireless signal through my house with this router and the main thing I got was to go to the address 192.168.1.1 and configure my router. The thing is though, is that while I can configure the router with a password and everything, I still cannot get connected to the internet. Can anyone walk me through this step by step?

I believe that this might be a problem with my ISP. I have time warner cable and was told that I need to enable cloning of ips. Does anyone know how I can do this?

No, it's a clone of the MAC address from your computer.

First find that Mac address
Connect the system directly to the modem
wait ~30 seconds and get the command prompt (run->cmd)
now enter this ipconfig /all and hit enter
the reply will contain
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF
this is the MAC you need

Now update (ie config) the router to use it
disconnect the system from the router
connect the router (WAN slot) to the modem
connect the system to the router (wired, not wireless!)
use your browser to configure it; enter 192.168.1.1 as the url and hit enter
you'll get a prompt for the user/pwd
Linksys uses user = admin password = {leave it empty!}

go thru the tabs and look for masquerade as this mac
enter the AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF you found above

Config the WiFI portion
set the SSID to anything other than the default
set the DHCP range to a low of 2 and a hi of 10
come back later to enable WiFi encryption and set the passphrase
save the settings

One last task;
CHANGE THE ADMIN PASSWORD

Save the settings which will disconnect you from the config page

Your browser should find google.com (while wired)
and your WiFi should be able to connect to your SSID and find google too :)
