Industry’s first DirectX 9 chipset for AMD platforms to drive HP's full-featured,PCI Express-enabled multimedia notebooks

MARKHAM, ON - April 28, 2005 - ATI Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:ATYT) (TSX:ATY), the global leader for notebook PC graphics, today announced that its Radeon® Xpress® 200M chipset for AMD platforms will be integrated into two new lines of full-featured multimedia consumer notebook PCs from HP - the HP Pavilion zv6000 series and the Compaq Presario R4000 series.

The Radeon Xpress 200M platform enhances high-performance notebooks with industry-leading onboard DirectX 9 Radeon graphics and ATI’s innovative HyperMemory™ technology for superior graphics performance. The first to incorporate HyperMemory technology, the HP and Compaq notebooks provide consumers with a host of features that redefine on-the-road computing for digital entertainment, home office or educational needs.

The HP Pavilion zv6000 series and Compaq Presario R4000 series notebook PCs support AMD Athlon™ 64 and Sempron™ processors and feature a 15.4-inch widescreen display, built-in stereo speakers, 4 USB 2.0 ports, and an S-Video (TV-Out) port. Select models include an integrated 6-in-1 media card reader and an ExpressCard 54/34 card slot for use of next-generation PC Card expansion products.
