VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

The VideoLAN Team is pleased to announce the release of VLC media player 0.9.9 - Grishenko. Resulting of 2 years of development, it features many new functionalities, including a new interface for Windows and Linux.

- Mouse cursor support in x11 and win32 screen modules
- Screen module now supports partial screen capture and mouse following on windows.
