Sometimes you just can't have the good without the bad, it seems. For all the merriment and celebration that is no doubt going on at Take-Two Interactive over the recent launch of Grand Theft Auto IV, there's a bit of bad news marring the much-anticipated game's debut.

According to GameSpot, gamers have been reporting in GTA IV forums all over the Internet that their new purchase is freezing up on them during introductory scenes in both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of the game - though crashes on the 60GB version of the PS3 hardware appear to be the most common.

So far Take-Two Interactive has declined to comment on the issue, but the folks over at Xbox Family believe to have the answer as to why this is happening. According to them, the problem lies in the way GTA IV was designed to have no loading times, causing the game to overload the console's cache and consequently freeze. Whatever the cause, hopefully Take-Two and Rockstar will react quickly enough to solve this problem before it becomes widespread.
