Weekend Open Forum: How many browser tabs are open right now?
Browsing the web on a typical day I tend to amass a ridiculous amount of open tabs, whether related to something I'm working on or stuff that caught my eye and I want to check in a while -- but don't necessarily want to bookmark or save to Instapaper. Right now I have a modest 12 open, but it gets much worse on occasions, especially since I don't use any kind of tab manager and rarely open things in a new window.
How about you: How many tabs do you keep open on average and how many are open right now? Feel free to share any add-ons or tips you have to manage browser tabs.

119 as of right now. Even did some cleaning yesterday and closed a lot of tabs but then I had to research some stuff and... 'new tabs happened'. I'm pretty sure I must have breached the 200 barrier a couple of times. Sometimes I manage to get it down to just a handful but I'm a packrat by nature. Add to that my system which has a 4.8GHz I5 SB, 8GB Ram and 240GB SSD and things just get worse because the computer handles those tabs with ease as long as Firefox/Flash doesn't bug out on it. It's like giving a hoarder an empty 747 aircraft hangar and telling the person to have fun with it

But @ any moment it can be between 1~10... usually around 5 open all the time though.

At minimum 40 on one group only, (count at leas 3 groups). Using Firefox. I miss a way to save group of tabs and open them at once, like maxthon. Actually lot of tabs create a lot of problems in firefox. Inactive groups are still in memory. We need a more complex and sophisticated tab management, and ofcourse with much memory management.

10 right now, often I have more, rarely do I have less than 3

I don't use tabs, ....but if have no less than 4~5 browser windows open at all time, sometimes as many as 15...

Currently 8, across two windows. I don't like to get more than 6 open per window so I can actually tell what they are at a glance.

At most around 10-15ish. At least around 2-3 ish and on average around 3-7

So you get 100+ replies with people stating how many tabs they have open... In sorry but this is lame! Are people gonna click through 3-4 pages of what is little more than "hey I have 3 tabs open"!

I have 5 windows open.. with about 10-20 tabs in each window *nerd*
I think I need to close a few.. dozen.

Why would you have 100 tabs if you're not currently using all of them. Just save and close them. There's not much point in having that many if you can't navigate through all of them, and I know I at least wouldn't find my way very fast in that many.
When I'm working on a project I clean my bookmarks bar and save pages within folders there, so I don't have ridiculous number of tabs open. I have open only the things I'm currently looking at. If I have something for use later, or a different topic entirely I would either use different browser window and often minimize to the taskbar so it doesn't get in the way.

right now I have 3, sometimes it gets up to 9. usually it is 2.

Right now: 26.
Minimum: Usually no less than 15.
Maximum: 60 or so usually split onto two monitors with two windows of Firefox.
Average: Probably 25.
This is why I love Firefox so much. You can customize it to fit your needs.
