Dial-up settings
This
section will show you how to further enhance your connection
by editing the Network settings in Windows. Go into the Control
Panel & open Network
& Dial-up connections. Right click on your
connection & select Properties. Select the Configure
option.
Set
Maximum speed to
whatever you earlier set your Port speed too. Tick
all of the Hardware
features as appropriate, if you have a winmodem
tick none of them. Click Ok.
Network settings
Next
select the Networking
tab.
First
remove as many unnecessary
components/protocols as possible. The protocols shown below
will give you the best performance.
Re-boot
once you've made your removals & return to this section
once you have rebooted.
Choose the Type
of dial-up server I am calling as appropriate, for most
this will be PPP.
