It
should begin with "rem generated by Sin, do not
modify". Of course, we ARE going to modify it, but just
to be safe, make a copy of the file, save it in another folder
in case you want to restore/compare settings. There's a lot of
settings wrote down there, however you won't need to change
many.

First
off, add the following to the bottom of the list;
set
gl_playermip "0"
set gl_picmip "0"
set gl_bitdepth "0"
set gl_round_down "0"
set intensity "1.5”
set gl_triplebuffer "1"
You
can simply cut & paste it into it. Save it now. Next,
search for "set gl_modulate", the default
value is 1, this is too dark for a lot of people. Change this
value from "1" to, "2.2" at the most,
depending on how dark it is currently, if set too high Sin
will look very bright, I have it set to “1.6” &
its perfect. TNT cards will usually need higher values, 3dfx
cards you probably will be setting it to around my value of 1.6.
Now
find/add “set intensity” change this in accordance
with the above setting. The default value is 1.7. This is
similar to changing the brightness in the game, but this
allows for better fine tuning. You can fine tune the darkness
& clarity of the game this way to your needs.
Next,
find "set gl_polyblend", default value is 1
as well. This value has to do with colour changes in your
view, e.g. when you go into the water, your view will have a
bluish colour to it, or the way your sniper rifle has a night
vision style green to it when you zoom in with it. Set it to
"0" if you're desperate for a little
performance boost, or just want the vision to stay the same at
all times.
For best graphical results, change "set gl_texturemode"
to “GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR”, if you want to
improve performance however, you can change it to "GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST".
