Unfortunately, while that used to work Windows 98, it does not work in XP.I just unceched Tcp/ip and applied and rechecked and applied/ reboot
You'll need to:
- Click Start > Run
- Type: cmd.exe
- Press [Enter] or OK
- Type the following at the command prompt:

netsh winsock reset
- Restart
This should fix it, based on the symptoms you've described.
