5G is safe, so why do people believe it makes them ill?

That's a very weak logical argument. The power each one uses increases generation by generation. Some things kill slowly over a long period of time. Take cigarettes for instance. Your argument is just bizarre. Plus, 5G is the first technology ever to be weaponized and used by the military for crowd control. That's a fact you can verify right now per the governments own websites.

They're using it like a focused high powered microwave oven to heat your skin up. Clever use.

All tech using EM radiation can cause heating and in fact 3G, 4G, and 5G all have wattage limits for the specific purpose of limiting tissue heating.

BTW that's how the sun heats you as well. Better avoid that, too.

Most popular "weapon" used "against" crowds is water; should we start to be afraid of taps in our homes? And showers must be real serial killers then - one short piece of pipe with so many killer-jets :-D

Some people do get sick from wireless communications being in close proximity with them. It is not necessarily a 5G problem but something that some people have noticed since all of the wireless business began. It is real for some folks and not just imaginary. But the 5G and coronavirus business is nonsense and they should know better than to blindly believe that and start burning down 5G wireless towers! ?

You a right. I oversimplified a lot and passed the wrong information.

What I should have said was that the spectrum that 5G uses, has a lower frequency waves, than daylight spectrum. Putting it further away from the ionizing spectrum.
Not necessarily. The ionizing power of a particular frequency of radiation is also dependent on the material that absorbs it. If you just happen to hit the right absorber with the right radiation, the absorber could absorb all of the incident radiation. It is simple quantum physics. ;)

Very weak argument. Try again.

I'm very happy to see that the majority of the people responding on this thread don't just roll over like a little dog and believe anything they're told.

I'm open and willing to debate the issue but you better come with arguments that make logical sense. Not "why are you afraid of 5g if you aren't afraid of 4g". :)
I assume sarcasm so I guess I'll be sarcastic back?

"If you're serious, I mean, if my argument was that weak, why couldn't you answer it? If it's such a weak argument, why haven't you died from 4G cell towers melting your skin off?"

Ever seen this one?
https://www.lockhaven.edu/~dsimanek/dhmo.htm#:~:text=Prolonged exposure to its solid,DHMO withdrawal means certain death.

Science is hard for some people, and it's both funny and sad at the same time.

I remember a guy that made a video asking people to sign a petition, during an environmentalist protest, to ban dihydrogen monoxide.
He just clammed that it was a chemical found everywhere, including our food and drinks.
But no one realized that he was just talking about H2O, water, and most just signed the petition.
It was so easy to just manipulate so many people, with something so blatant.

What I see a lot of people confusing are the power levels and the G. Because the average meat sack on the street has been wired to think of incremental advancement as increases in power ("The NEW 4G network is 3x more POWERFUL than the old, outdated 3G!") and not as generational advances in technology, they assume that the EM radiation levels have also increased exponentially.

They think that if standing in front of a radar array in 1945 can melt a chocolate bar in your shirt pocket, then this 5G thing can surely mutate cells in your body.

I would love to ask the people setting fire to cell towers how they feel about the coming zombie apocalypse.

Like old George Carlin used to say..."Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
There are people nowadays that believe that some dude died and came back to life just for them. And to honor his supposed teachings they waged war after war, killing, torturing bilions. So yeah, if you can immagine that, the 5G conundrum doesn't seem so far-fetched anymore.

Nobody here ever mentioned the word "resonance" or "resonant frequency". The amplitude of the wave doesn't mean much, unless you hit the resonant frequency, which is the natural frequency at which the target oscillates. 5G has such a wide specter of frequencies, that one can hit those that can be sensitive for human body.

Although, let's be honest, we're currently already using some dangerous frequencies, such as 2.4 GHz, for various purposes. Why is that frequency so important? Because that's the frequency at which the water vibrates (one of the resonant frequencies of water). Which is the reason why microwave ovens use it.

Yes, microwave ovens have a lot higher power, but even a much lower power, when applied from up close (near your ear) and for a long time (people who are constantly on the phone) can cause heating of your brain tissue (because brain is 90% water). Hence, it can cause damage over a long period of time.

With 5G the range of frequencies is wider than ever before, going up to 300 GHz. I wonder if they tested all those frequencies on animals, or are they using the customers as the test animals. Which seems to be a trend in both medicine, food production (GMO) and other industries. So why not in telecommunications, right?

I've never held my phone to my head, for the simple reason of resonance. My first bluetooth headseat, was the plantronics 1500. It was a two piece set because BT wasn't available in
most flip phones at the time. You connected one part to the speaker/headphone jack, and
the other part, you had on your ear. I'm not "hyped afraid" of radiation from phones, but being
in the electronics field for 50+ years, microwaves, x-rays (old vacuum tube televisions with flyback transformers), I'd just rather be cautious.

Wow. this article sure brought out the wackos! It seems people on the fringe or people that have a strong distrust of the government and authority are the ones believing & propagating these conspiracy theories and unproven ideas. Authorities (both the government & academia) are saying something is true? Then its NOT true! They're saying it's not true? Then it's TRUE! This mode of thinking is just so adolescent, and yet some adults continue to think like this.

For the savvy, exactly the point of my post above; however, most people probably do not think in those terms.

As to testing, almost certainly the wide range of frequencies has not yet been tested. I am willing to bet that the actual testing on 5G - millimeter waves - has been very limited to almost nonexistent.

And of what testing has been done, I would not be surprised if at least some of it was paid for by entities that have an investment and profit motive in 5G.

Personally, I would like to see more testing.

In any event, with fiber to the home in my near future and a cell phone I bought last year that I probably will not replace for at least 6 or 7 years, 5G is of little concern to me at the moment.

You seriously need me to explain it? *face palm*. 4G != 5G. Just like in math, 6 !=7. That's your logic since 4G was safe 5G must be safe? Smoking cigarettes for 20 years doesn't cause your skin to melt off either. It gives you lung cancer and other issues. So, I guess cigarettes are safe.

All this angst against 5G - imagine how bad it's going to be when they finally turn it up to 10G.....

Aside from my obviously sarcastic previous post, I'm surprised there are so many people actually arguing over this.

I mean, people have actually burnt down cell towers because they actually believe 5G is dangerous.

I'm usually all in with the fun, Flat Earthers being a great example of a group of crazies who are fun to take the p*ss out of but 5G, well it goes to show some people really will believe anything they're told regardless of facts or the science behind it.

We are the people living in third world countries want 5G , bring 5G to us if you don't want it
as we don't even have proper internet connection speeds or good mobile phone coverage or even electricity , in my country we are the number 1 for having the worst internet connection speed in the whole world

I don't think that's how it works. Why would they bring 5G to a place where probably few can afford it? It won't be cheap.
