I will find a better forum off HJT to check my problem. One that has less rules about where I post and is more concerned with making sure I am clean. BTW, how do I cancel my membership?

DimensionalMan, it sounds like you may be new to posting on an internet forum and asking for help. So allow me to sooth your attitude.

• First, malware help is customized for the original system with the problem. So we close the thread when through so that others will start their own thread with their own specific problems.
• Second, every credible forum for malware removal will have posting rules.
• Third, it is up to each forum to set up the preliminary steps for virus and malware removal. The steps for TechSpot can be found HERE. which can be seen at the top of this forum.
• All of the computer help forums that offer free help are 'staffed' by volunteers. We give you our time, at no charge, to help you get out of the mess on your system.
• Lastly, if you do find a forum somewhere on the internet that has no 'rules' or organization, be wary of the help you get.

If you aren't willing to work within the above, then perhaps you should hire and pay someone to fix your mess.

One less comment to address this:

Everything still looks great but looking at the HJT log, dang! What is all this crap?

Most of the entries in HijackThis are legitimate. Unlike Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, HJT does not just seek out and display 'bad' entries- which is why the helpers instruct the user in what to remove- if anything.

Enjoy your day! Tell the Geek Squad that you will be paying for their help because you had an attitude problem and missed out on getting good, free help.

Hi Dimensionalman,

I know you are frustrated. I was there. I couldn't find where to start a new topic and then started one in the wrong place. I was upset because I had tried everything under the sun to clear my computer of a virus/malware problem. The folks here helped get me in the right place and helped me clean up my computer. Please hang in there as I don't think you are going to find any group that is as helpful and knowledgeable as the group here.

Let them help you step by step and soon you will be back to using a clean computer again.

Well, darn! I just clicked the wrong link in my email message and it said that I was unsubscribed from this thread! Hopefully, I can still post this message. <G>

I think I have done everything in that last message, except installing the WOT program. It took all day to install all the Windows updates, but I believe those are all done now.

I can't thank you enough for all your help!
