[A] Computer is infected

  1. Ladies and gentlemen greetings:) You have been highly recomended by AVG to assist me in an infection I received after I removed Inbox.com. Since then if I try to download a program the promps tell me it is downloading, an icon will show, then after completion the icon dissapears! When I check for downloads there's nothing there! When trying to access Internet Explorer, the Inbox.com main page appears and directs all inquires to pages in their domain! The only way I am able to contact you is that now AVG redirects my inquires in other words...Intercepts! Your assistance in this matter would mean a whole lot to me. And I promised AVG I would become a life long member if they made this happen! Thank you for your time and here's hoping we stay in touch Sincerely, Charles R. Bacon Sr.

    Make sure, you PASTE all logs. If some log exceeds 50,000 characters post limit, split it between couple of replies.
    Attached logs won't be reviewed.

    Please, observe following rules:
    • Read all of my instructions very carefully. Your mistakes during cleaning process may have very serious consequences, like unbootable computer.
    • If you're stuck, or you're not sure about certain step, always ask before doing anything else.
    • Please refrain from running tools or applying updates other than those I suggest.
    • Never run more than one scan at a time.
    • Keep updating me regarding your computer behavior, good, or bad.
    • The cleaning process, once started, has to be completed. Even if your computer appears to act better, it may still be infected. Once the computer is totally clean, I'll certainly let you know.
