Alright, so I have what, judging by the current state of this forum, is a common issue right now. Rather than type it out myself, I grabbed another user's OP with the same problem, to the letter, who has tried the same solution. Note that I am on Windows 7.
Also of note, I am being randomly redirected to different websites on three different internet browsers.
Before I ask how I can resolve the issue, I want to ask for a qualified opinion on if it is worth the hassle. I can easily reinstall the three or so programs that I use consistently on this laptop. The losses I would deal with would be extremely irritating, but not something I couldn't live through. My main computer is a PC, so not too much is saved here. I still have my Windows 7 install disk. Am I going to be better off dealing with the inconvenience of getting this computer back to working order after a system restore or am I better off pursuing a solution here?
I'm getting constant AVG Threat Detected alerts stating Infection: "Trojan Horse Crypt.AQLW" and Malware: "Win32/Sirefref.ER". I keep moving them to the virus vault but I'm getting like 15 a day now. All of them are "C:\windows\system32\(different letters each time).dll"
I've also used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware in Safe Mode a couple of times, ran quick and normal scans, but this hasn't done anything to clear up the infection.
