Okay, I know I'm asking for the moon here (which is infuriating because I don't think I'm asking too much) but I'm looking to help Dad "cut the cord" and dump his costly satellite dish by hooking him up with an OTA tuner supplemented by a "streaming" service like "DirecTV-Now".
Problem is, Dad is used to having a single on-screen guide to see what's on and then open that station. But I can find NO streaming TV device (Roku, Tivo, Shield, etc) or PC software (Plex, Kodi, etc) that offers both local AND streaming listings in one guide (let alone then being able to launch either.) And forget about being able to schedule/DVR a program from that same guide. That's REALLY expecting too much.
...or is it? I can build my own HTPC with DVR capability if that's what it takes, but having one Guide for both is the lynch-pin.
