Inactive [A] Virus does nothing but shut down computer at random times

Status
Not open for further replies.
Alright, so my computer has recently been acting up in that it will shut down at random times, as the title suggests. It doesn't matter whether I'm trying to scan for the virus or watching a video on YouTube, the computer will shut down without warning.

My friend, who built my computer, believes it to be a virus, and told me to come here. This is after being told to, and installing free versions of Malwarebytes and I believe SUPERAntiSpyware. I first scanned with SAS, which found over 400 threats, but then removed them. Unfortunately, I have yet to complete a scan, be it quick or complete, with Malware bytes, due to the spontaneous shutting down.

So, if anybody could help, it would be greatly appreciated. I tried doing the steps detailed in the Preliminary Thread, but the computer, of course, shut down. What I'm really looking for is a solution that could work in around 15-30 minute intervals. One could be the installation of the program, the next a quick scan, the next an attempted complete, etc.
