Acomdata drive fails to show icon

I have an Acomdata hard drive that has worked great for years. Now its icon
fails to show up on my Mac computer when plugged in. Any suggestions?

meaning - is it your opinion there is no solution other than discarding

Yes, if the drive is not detected, there's not much more you can do... other than replacing the drive
