AdBlock wants to buy ads to promote getting rid of ads

The only reason I use it is it blocks viruses. This is the start of the end of the internet, if it doesn't make revenue. Newspapers are already failing, altho I don't see why when sports stars can be paid $100 million salaries each using an advertising mechanism. It could be like drug companies advertising for medicare dollars, when medicare is already $42 trillion in debt. I think they should prevent both adblock from advertising and those getting medicare from advertising.

I think I'm going to stick with "NoScript". I like its policy toward advertising, "kill it all, and let God decide what's worth seeing".

Who knows, maybe he'll give it to the devil to force me to watch after I'm dead....

It's very simple, if a too large percentage of people block AD's either all your favorites sites will go under.
Or they will implement a feature where the site will not load when they detect that an AD blocker I in use.

Yes, I've been to a site or two that wouldn't load unless I disabled my adblocker. I just X'd out.

I think I remember doing the same, once within the short time I have used Adblock Plus. And you know what, I will continue the very same trend.

I think advertisers will find another way to advertaise which will probably be more difficult to block.

Yeah, wikipedia has changes their way their donation notification is displayed and it was always blocked whenever I viewed it on wikipedia the years before

Thats different though, I can handle site related donation/membership begging. That is unless they really make it annoyingly in your face, where you can't view the site without complying. In that case, it is time to click the little "x".
