Hi, I'm new here but hopefully someone can help me out.

I'm trying to get to a site that has only stopped working for me this past friday. I can access it from work and my BlackBerry but not my personal computer (but was able to before last friday)

I've spent over 4 hours on the phone with my ISP/Router company

Thank you and I await a response

Go to:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

Open the hosts file with notepad. Is there anything listed in there (after all the lines with beginning with #) other than "127.0.0.1 localhost"?

Also try:

Open a command prompt (start, run, cmd, enter)
Type: ipconfig /flushdns
Close the command prompt window
Try to access the site again.

Ok Thanks. I tried the dnsflush a few different times (thats what the ISP said to do) and it didn't work.

I opened the hosts file with notepad and this is what it said after all lines starting with #
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

Ok. You can remove the "::1 localhost" line and save the file. Then try to access the site.

If that doesn't work, open a command prompt windows again and ping the website you are trying to ask. (e.g. - ping www.techspot.com)

Make a note of what ip address is resolved. See if you get the same results when doing this from work.
