In brief: The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a chip we called the new gaming CPU king when it launched in November 2024, is currently available for $429 from Newegg. Better still, it's part of a deal that includes a $70 MSI MAG AIO cooler and the new Onimusha game, also $70, absolutely free.

In a time when most PC hardware has become so expensive that many people are avoiding upgrading, it's refreshing to see a deal like this.

CPUs haven't been affected by the memory crisis like other components, but it's still great to find a processor available for around $70 less than its launch MSRP. It's listed for $469, but there's another $40 off by using the special promo code: FTTF7668.

Technically, the entire package represents $210 more value than buying the CPU at launch. Included in the purchase is a very nice MSI MAG CoreLiquid A13 240 Black - AIO ARGB Liquid Cooling kit. The two-fan cooler is usually $70 when bought alone, and should pair well with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

If you're still not convinced, the CPU also includes the new Onimusha: Way of the Sword game. It's got a Metascore of 83 on Metacritic and a Very Positive rating on Steam (91% positive), where you can also try the demo. It's normally $70, too, further illustrating what a good deal this is.

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D's gaming performance, from our review

We wrote in our original review of the 9800X3D, which we gave a score of 90, that it represented excellent value even at its $480 MSRP. Like all X3D CPUs, the 8-core/16-thread CPU leverages AMD's 3D V-Cache.

This second-generation design moves the extra cache beneath the CPU cores, improving cooling and allowing higher clock speeds. The results speak for themselves: across our 14-game test suite, the 9800X3D was 11% faster than the 7800X3D, while beating Intel's Core i9-14900K by 27% and the Core Ultra 9 285K by 33%.

Some individual gains were even bigger, with Hogwarts Legacy running 21% faster than on the 7800X3D. It also proved efficient, using 36% less power than the 285K in Cyberpunk 2077 while delivering 45% more performance. That's plenty of gaming muscle to go with the bundled cooler and free game.

Naaa... Lisa, throw in 32 gigs of RAM instead of AIO and You're golden.
Currently their is no longer any CPU/ memory combo deals but there is cpu, mobo plus ram kits available. Although no where nearbhow good we had it 7700x launch days with ddr5 cl30 6ghz kits at 32 gigs given free with cpu purchase. FYI1000080826.jpg
