Another Apple ID on my phone

I bought an iPhone with the seller's Apple ID remained on that iPhone. That is, that person's Apple ID is set on the iPhone. Does it matter? Or can they access my data while their Apple ID is still set on the iPhone?

The Apple-ID controls access to the Apple App Store where you buy stuff and download to the device.
You should disconnect the old and login to yours.

Keeping YOUR devices on YOUR Apple-ID is sane and safe, but as you are now, the original owner could wipe your device clean - - but that's obvious in that App-ID<-controls->device(s)

Just remove all the apps on your iphone if the apps are relevant the the seller's Apple ID . and start to use your own ID to download new apps. this is the best way to keep your data safe.
