Any decent inexpensive CPU and Motherboard combos?

I'm running with a phenom ii x4 965 right now and games like Monster Hunter World are practically unplayable because of it. I haven't replaced it because it means I need a new motherboard as well and that's a bit of a pain but it's neccesary now unfortunately. I guess something in the $200 range would be my goal (less would be swell as well and a little more is alright if it's really good)

You'll want 2 RAM sticks to run in dual memory channel mode (which is something Ryzen CPUs really like).

If you want an Intel based machine, then you won't be able to get a 6 core CPU for $100 - it'll have to be a 4 core i3:

The same RAM as above should work in this setup. However, unlike the AMD-based Gigabyte motherboard, the MSI one doesn't support memory speeds faster than 2666 MHz.

Also note that neither the Ryzen 5 1600 nor the Core i3-9100F have integrated graphics, so you'll absolutely need a graphics card for both.
