Any wireless K & M experts out there?

Hello technologically inclined people
I recently purchased a Logitech MK550 Wave wireless keyboard and mouse. My son got a hold of USB transmitter and snapped it off (its done) The transmitter stand is in tact , however without the transmitter , the keyboard and mouse cannot be connected and are worthless.
I purchased a new wave pro wireless K7M setup, but would like to salvage this one if possible
Is there a way to use something else as a transmitter ? or modify this thing for use?
Its brand new and worthless as (pick your own favorite saying)

The set uses a Logitech Unifying Receiver, so you may be able to get one of these to use them.
