Apple releases firmware fix for stalling drives

  1. Two weeks ago, Apple took an official stance on the increasing number of complaints that certain MacBook Pro models were plagued by stalling and clicking hard drives. The company put users’ minds at ease by reassuring everyone that it wasn't a mechanical defect, and promising a firmware fix down the road. That fix has now been crafted and posted by Apple, and is available for download to anyone who is affected by the issue.
