Upgrading my system, looking for best value and quality graphics card with support for 3 monitors. Applications: multiple hi res stock charts, streaming video, DVD movies, photo editing. Must be reliable, efficient (only 450W ps), and run cool (desert temps). Thanks for insights.

Budget: 150-250? Asus Sabertooth X58 with Core i7-950 CPU, 2X2G Corsair Dominator 1600 RAM, dual Raptor 36G 10,000 RPM RAID 1, WD Black 1T 7200RPM internal, and Iomega 1T eSATA external drives, Win7 (32 or 64?). I prefer Asus quality. Looking at CuCore 5770 vs. 5850. $150 vs $240.

More info on the powersupply please, or if you're willing to replace, as a 450w will certainly not work for a 5850.

Dear hellokitty,

Fortron Source 450W, incredibly good quality ps. Have decided to go with Asus EAH5770 CuCore, which draws 18W at idle, and 108W under full load. Found it in HK for $132.90 equivalent. I'll be there on Monday. :)

I would definitely not say "incredibly good quality".

I would. My testing found Fortron Source was the best quality at time of purchase (2002). In 10 years of service, it has never malfunctioned.
