ATAPI DVD DH20A1S being a pain

I have the following DVD RW drive...

ATAPI DVD A DH20A1S

I cannot copy files over to be burned onto a DVD, it says that a problem occured and do I want to try again. I am using windows built in burning thing because I don't have my software with me to reinstall and the only free one I found expired the day i downloaded it... brilliant...

anyway,
I think I need to have new drivers for it but the only places I can find with any drivers remotely close to what I want are those scummy sites that *charge* you for downloading them. Does anyone know where I can find the drivers?

Try DISCInfo to locate the updated firmware.

Also sometimes this fault is due to having too many temp files installed.
Use CCleaner to remove all your temp files, and consider defragging your computer after that

ok thanks for the link.
I use CCleaner and defrag regularly, and this is a new replacement computer so that shouldn't be the problem.
