ATMT Mp3 player problem!

I've just bought an ATMT mp3 player and i put all the songs i wanted onto a synch list on WMA and then synchronised them onto my MP3, WMA said that this had all been completed fine. However, when i took my mp3 off the usb attachment to my computer and tried to play my music it simply said 'no files'. When i looked at the memory though it said '98% full' and when i plugged the MP3 player back into my computer it showed that all my songs had been downloaded onto it. My Mp3 is WMA compatible so why can't it play my songs?
