Australia orders Google 'privacy breach' investigation

Well in continuation of earlier link posting, I guess this issue hasn't run its course yet, and probably will keep raising its head in various countries.

Funny thing is Google say's Aussie Govt. is pursuing some sort of vendetta against it, I am sorry but 'since when calling a thief ..... has become wrong'?

The possible offences occurred while Google vehicles, mounted with 360-degree cameras, gathered pictures for Street View, collecting private wireless data at the same time.

2) How does one "mistakenly" collect private wireless data?

3) And i understand the 360-degree cameras and probably collecting geo-positioning data as well, but why would they be collecting all wireless data?

Even if they were using a wireless camera still doesn't explain it

Time for people to focus on the real issue here. The general lack of security on so many wireless networks. Secure your networks people! Or else prepare for disaster...no excuses.

That is one issue as well, but the real point is a corporation with lots of resources at its disposal is 'exploiting' the shortcomings instead of being open and more forthcoming about the issue so it could be resolved.
