AVG for android

I downloaded AVG for android to my Kindle Fire HD 8. The fire indicated the software loaded safely. I have a message to run my first scan. But, when I run the program, it blinks to a blank AVG screen and returns to my home page. I don't know what to do to run the program. Please help.
