I am having at least two problems with Windows XP. The first is that I no longer have any sound, although I did earlier. When I try to play any sounds through the Control Panel, the play button on the sounds is grayed out.

My second problem is that when I try to copy a file anywhere on my C drive, I now get the following message...

Cannot copy [FILE]: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

It isn't anywhere near full, and as far as I know, it is not write-protected. If it is, I know I didn't do it. Again, this was also not happening earlier. I reinstalled everything yesterday, and have only installed Firefox, Opera, OpenOffice, and AVG Anti-Virus since then.

AVG kept saying that some DLL files in the system32 folder were a threat, and I let it heal them. Could that be the problem? Thanks in advance for any help!
