Best laptop solution?

Hey everyone, I wanted to get you're opinions on something that I've been thinking about. What do you guys think of just getting a very cheap laptop and just throwing an SSD in there? The laptop to be used just for basic computing like internet browsing and Word Documents. I'm asking because I'll get asked from family members often what they should get, because they're sick of they're old slow computer. My sister recently asked me what she should get and I'm thinking this setup.

hmm; the acer looks ok.

The SSD is an alternative to an HDD - - are you going to replace the drive that comes with the Acer? WHY?
