People are free to do as they please, of course. I'm not offended by some random guy getting married to some other random guy. Even though my religious beliefs are against it, I understand that not everyone believes as I do. If my church were forced by law to officiate that gay marriage, though, there would be problems. Thankfully we haven't gotten to that point.

And I don't care if any random person wants to believe that he or she is the opposite gender. A person could be absolutely insistent that they were actually a tree, and that would be fine, I wouldn't care. But when social media and other institutions make it a rule that you have to recognize that person as a tree, and you're banned and labeled a bigot if you don't, there are problems.

Anyhow I like the fact that Elon what's to make people register with ID to prove they're a real person on Twitter. Also this should stop people being as toxic because free speech doesn't stop you from losing your job for saying bad **** on twitter, there should be consequences for spreading hate or being misogynistic etc.

Hopefully twitter will be a better place for debate.

When I see Techspot comments on this whole twitter thing, one thing always comes straight to mind.

What is each persons definition of "liberal" here are the 2 from Google.

1.Willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas
2.Relating to or denoting a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise

None of these sound like bad things, so makes me think people need to be clearer.

I noticed that when you chose the definition of liberal, when used as a noun, you chose the second, not the first definition which is:

1. 1. a supporter of policies that are socially progressive and promote social welfare.
2. 
   
3. That kind of has a "liberal" feel to it. Choosing a definition that is more palatable to the opposition, in order to make a point that doesn't exist. Social Progressive sounds very bad to me because I've seen what the social progressives have done to the city of Seattle. Basically, destroyed it.
   
   The reality is that liberal is synonymous with leftist, these days. There's a good Praeger University video on liberals versus leftist and they state that liberals and conservatives are actually very close in philosophy but that leftist have assumed the liberal mantle and are perverting it.
   
   In the context of Techspot, liberal is just a way of identifying someone who is on the opposite end of the political spectrum from someone who identifies as a conservative. It doesn't inherently have to be a bad thing, just that I don't agree with your politics.

Well, here's a perspective. Trump, when he came into office was around a 45% approval rating. Up and down over the course of his administration but averaged 41. Biden, on the other hand, came in with a 55% approval rating on Jan 25, 2021 and is now down in Trump territory.

However, I would say that many conservatives that I know, don't care about gender or sexual orientation, either. What you do in your bedroom (or any room) and with whom is none of my business.
