BIOS Mad

Asus X540S - complete flop. You name it and have had it. Blue screen, whirling blue circles, pages not loading up, black square appearing in the middle of the page, error code 0x000098 plus other codes and finally BIOS appearing every time I switch on. Finally had no choice had to do a complete recovery. Now have nothing saved or stored but still have the same problem. Now have page unresponsive and then it goes into BIOS which I save & exit. Then switches computer off.

Your laptop sounds sick. Locate and read troubleshooting section of your manual.

If you are not mechanically inclined, I suggest you take it to a repair shop.

If you have some skill, search YouTube for a video on you laptop or similar for methods to do a complete cleaning.

Follow with a clean install of OS freshly downloaded from Microsoft (or Ubuntu or whatever you use).
