Black screen after using task manager

Okay, now for some questions... Is using the Task Manager the only time the computer goes black. What is this computers make and model? Laptop or desktop? Why are you using the Task Manager, for what reason?

Yes, HP, Number: L0T74UA#ABA, Laptop, trying to become familiar with it. Only really closing apps I know I have open and googling things I'm not familiar with.
