Blank screen in L4D2

It has been 4 years since I bought this computer. In these 4 years I had to replace the motherboard once and the graphic card 3 times. I'm getting sick of my graphic card dieing all the time and I was wondering if it is possible that my monitor keeps destroying my graphic cards. The strange thing is I never have any trouble playing games except for L4D2. I can play games like Bad Company 2 without any crashes or art effects etc. As soon as I play L4D2 for a while I always end up with a blank screen. This is sometimes after one hour and maybe after 4 hours the next time. No matter how many times I reinstall windows XP or replace the graphic card, this keeps happening.
