I just got a new cpu.. Core 2 Quad Processor Q8200 (bought brand new).

But keep getting a blue screen before windows loads. The main blue screen error is 'Clfs.sys'.

If i use my old processor it works fine.

Here are my specs..

Operating System
MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86GHz 46 °C
Conroe 65nm Technology
RAM
2.0GB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 333MHz (5-5-5-15)
Motherboard
FP-IN9 SLI(C55-MCP51) (Socket 775)
Graphics
SyncMaster @ 1680x1050
320MB GeForce 8800 GTS (BFG Tech) 53 °C
Hard Drives
156GB Seagate ST316081 2AS SCSI Disk Device (SCSI)
Optical Drives
PHILIPS DVD8801 ATA Device

The bios has been flashed to support core 45nm.

The cpu is not overheating, and the cmos has been reset.

This is the Common Log (CLFS) driver. It general-purpose logging service and part of your Windows OS.

Clfs.sys is a 32/64-bit executable that requires no direct user interface.

Normally an OS driver only points out that there is an issue but is usually too general to be of much diagnostic help.

Thanks, I've been searching around and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem with this motherboard and cpu. I've ordered a new motherboard and will see how it goes.

Thanks for this information. Before closing, can you tell us the make of the motherboard?
