Building my first computer

just got the PSU for my build, Cooler Master 600W silent pro....I think it may be DOA, plug in and turn on, no fan movement no sound, any ideas? I don't have all my equipment yet so it wouldn't do me much good anyway just wanted to go ahead and test it as it will be a few weeks before I can get everything else.

was it plugged into the motherboard when you turned it on? The PSU needs a signal from the bios to power on, so if you just plugged it into the wall out of the box it wouldnt turn on.

I'd recommend an Antec ECO or an OCZ StealthXStream supply over the CX430. Also, consider the Seasonic SS-400ET; it's slightly more expensive than the Corsair (shipping-wise only, I think), but worth it.

The Corsair is inferior in quality to all three; a disappointment, given the stellar product it's replacing.

Hey Moiz,
Now are you speaking of the CX series only? I just purchased an Corsair HX650w and just for grins, I ran the entire system (900w draw) off it. It didn't flinch. I ran OCCT stress tests and the ripple test was flat lined @ 12.06v, and played Crysis for an hour with zero problems.

Fans?

my mobo has one 3-pin fan connector, I plan on running 5-6 fans how should I go about this, just get 3-pin to molex adapters and use PSU molex power cables?
