I thought this was interesting, boosting 16 active cores at once is pretty impressive.

The Bulldozer implementation of Turbo Core provides up to 500MHz of additional clock speed available with all cores active, which means that even with 16 cores of Opteron "Magny Cours" active with server workloads, all cores can boost at the same time. Additionally, even higher boost states available with half of the cores active.

I agree. I am really looking forward to both Ivy Bridge and Bulldozer releases to see how these cpus function. I will be doing a new build either at the end of this year or the beginning of 2012.

Perhaps AMD can bring something to the plate to make it more competitive than it has been in quite a while. I too am looking forward to see what Bulldozer has in the tank and to see what kind of overclocking headroom it has as well.
