Call of Duty issue

I hope this is in the right place.

I have call of duty: game of the year edition for my Satellite A215-s4747.
On certain levels, my objectives do not update. For example, on the last level of the British campaign on the ship, once i complete the last objective (retrieving the ships logs) it does not update. So i'm forced to wander the ship killing everyone.

I really like the game but this is really making me mad. The problem usaully works once i stop playing for months and when i come back it decides to work.

If anyone has any possible solutions, please help.

Run a disk check on your hard drive, make sure there are no errors, you can do this through my computer and then right clicking the hard drive.
