When I upgrade my RAM to 512mb+, will I be able to run Oblivion on my comp? My specs are below.

yes you can play it..certanly not on that pc(just sarcastic don't get mad)
Celly is very weak,512DDR is not enough,6200 is one big lol no offence...it won't run on your config sry.

Yes, it will run, just not smoothly unless you set graphics to relatively low. It's mostly GPU-dependent, your CPU is fine for it.

Set grass visibility to lowest (ie. off) and turn off shadows, it should be playable at 800x600 or so.

hmm...how can you run Oblivion on a 64Mb Graph card with 64Bit!! oh...128MbTurboCache :|..800X600 is kinda high for a celly and 6200 on such a graphic demanding game.

At lower frames that game hoges the CPU. I don't think sheely (think about that one :D) can handel it. Will this computer play it? Yes. Playable enough in real time. No way

It look like hmm... You know when you have strobe lights in a dark room and everything moving looks like it's jittering same with how this game will play.

To run the game comfortably u would need at least 1 GB of RAM, a Pentium 4 (Northwood core and above, Prescott recommended, no Celerons) and a 6600 GT. My friends' 6200 plays it well but his is a 512MB card. The game has loadsa textures so it eats loads of memory. Upgrade the RAM to at least 1GB(and the CPU if possible) and check it out. If it plays well, ur good to go.

ok so it has 512 DDr but it's awfully slow anyway don't think it can handle even a game like nfsmw at max settings + AA.

What do u mean even a game like NFS:MW? It's a very graphically demanding game on those settings and only a 6800 and above will run it comfortably on them. No need to demean people when they're in obvious need for help.
@cfitzarl, try these 2 CPUs. Whichever one is more affordable for u, get that. The 3 GHz one is more recommended due to its higher frequency and larger L2 cache. Plus shipping is free on that one.

As for a video card, if u want to upgrade try this it will play Oblivion very well. It has GDDR3 memory which makes it very fast. U will see marked improvements. Only get one if u want to upgrade ur current card and have the extra cash to do so.

um..my radeon 9600xt has no problems running NFSMW maxed. and 9600xt isn't quite the best card you can get...not even a good one...

The 9600XT is a superior card, that's all. And he wants to just play Oblivion, not the eye candy. The 6200 can do that but the 6800 I posted will do it better. Period. Ur not helping by continuously saying that he won't be able to play the game. Giving a solution to the problem rather than unnecessarily commenting would be a better idea.

You both should be able to play the game! But i dont know how well...

Try turning the settings to low, then it should run fine :)

I can say with 100% certainty that you will be able to run it, since I do on a system quite a bit worse than yours. I have an Intel Celeron 2.6 GHz (.06 less than yours ;)), 512 megs of ram, and a Geforce FX5200. However, I don't know if you would, but I have to use a program called Oldblivion that makes Oblivion run better on older cards. It looks bad, but it runs, and not bad. Not good either, but it runs. If you need it, here is the website: http://www.oldblivion.com/
