Solved Can't Boot Into Windows

Here are the logs that you had asked for. Just one thing. Am I allowed to defrag my system? It's been quite a long time and the system is running slower than usual.

Thanks a lot for all the help. Please do let me know what I must do after this. Cheers. :)

All looks good :)
How is the computer doing?

Uninstall Combofix:

TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

Disable your antivirus program.
Go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

1. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
2. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
3. When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
4. Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:

  • Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
    [*] Archives
    [*] Mail databases
5. Click on My Computer under Scan.
6. Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
7. You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
8. Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt before clicking on the Save button. Then post it here.

Post fresh HijackThis log as well.

Thank you, Mr. Broni. The computer is doing fine. Just that, as I mentioned in my last post, it has slowed down a little. So I was wondering if I could defrag the drives. If it doesn't interfere with the cleaning process, that is.

Shall get down to the new scans as soon as I can. Thanks again. :)

Mr. Broni, ran into a bit of a problem. I was trying to do the online scan from the Kaspersky website, when I saw that I'd require at least 105 MB of downloads. Now the thing is, I do not have that much of download in this billing cycle of mine. Have about 15 MB left. :( So it'll take a while for me to get that done. Sorry about that.

However, is there something smaller in size that I can use as a substitute? Thanks a lot for all the help. :)

Yes.

Please run a BitDefender Online Scan

  • Disable your antivirus program.
  • Click Start Scanner button.
  • Click Start scan button
  • Allow browser plug-in to be installed when prompted.
  • Click I Agree to agree to the EULA.
  • Please refrain from using the computer until the scan is finished.
  • When the scan is finished, click on View log.
  • Notepad will open with scan results.
  • Save the report to your desktop and post its content in your next reply.

Post fresh HijackThis log as well.

Dear Mr. Broni,

Here are the new files. The first time the BitDefender scan did not work properly. Took an hour to scan and then continued to show that the scan was not finished even though the blue bar had reached the end of the tunnel. The timer was still ticking. I waited for another hour and a half before I aborted it. I ran TFC again, restarted my computer. This time the scan was done in a minute. Posting log for the same. Don't know if I made some mistakes the first time.

I'm posting a new HijackThis log also.

Thanks a lot for all the help. Cheers. :)

Thanks a lot, Mr. Broni. Did all of the above. Computer is running fine. :grinthumb

Just one thing though. Is Microsoft Windows Recovery Console supposed to stay on? I did not have it before ComboFix installed it.

Again, thanks a ton for all the help. And...do you really have WHITE eyebrows??? :stickout:

I'm glad to hear good news :)
White eyebrows??...LOL
Yes, Recovery Console is very important. It comes really handy, if, for some reason, computer becomes not bootable, some files have to be replaced outside Windows, etc.
