Cant start up Windows

Went online closed out firefox left came back to a blue screen with a message that windows needs to restart because of an error. Restarted windows had new desktop items and windows could not get all the way loaded and I got same message. I am now trying to load in safe mode and the same thing is happening. I need help just got rid of antivirus 2010 virus about a week ago now this. I found a post about this that has a link to a patch (http://microsoft.com/technet/treevie...n/MS03-026.asp) but it says page not found and the page that loads is not for windows xp home edition.
