Changing Vista power scheme to "always on"

I have a program that I just successfully installed onto my laptop with Vista but it is telling me that I have an incompatible power scheme and that I need to switch from "Home/Office" to "Always On". From what I have been able to find this is something from Windows XP that still lingers around but does nothing in the registry edit section of Vista. Does anyone know how I can get my laptop to accept the "Always On" power scheme as my current power scheme? I've fooled around with my power settings in control panel to make it never shut off or sleep but that doesn't do anything. I've even changed a ton of the values of powercfg in regedit attempting to get it to accept "Always On" as the scheme but the program still says to change it. Anyone have any good advice on this???
